On the back of your credit or debit card, you should find a 3-digit number printed in reverse italics. Located next to your white signature stripe and under “authorized signature”. This applies for most credit and debit cards, take the example of CVV numbers for VISA, Mastercard, JCB, Discover, etc.

The CVV number of an Amex card, on the other hand, should be on the card’s front side with 4-digit. Generally on the middle-right of the card, above the account number, next to the bank’s logo. The code is hot stamped and cannot be scratched off.
