A chargeback happens when a customer (buyer) asks their credit card issuer (Issueing Bank/ Card Organization) to reverse a transaction that has already cleared. This means that a payment which Merchant has received could be reversed, even if Merchant has already posted/ delivered the goods – which can, of course, be frustrating.
Octalas will help Merchants as much as possible if Merchants wish to dispute a chargeback, but the final decision will be relied on the credit card company. However, Merchants can also get protection with Octalas’s Merchant Protection policy.
